HomeHolyland Camping Message BoardNov 14, 2007
Holyland Camping is one of the most important projects of our Host, Holy Land Inc. since it presents a vehicle to implement core Zionist aims, like to resettle and reclaim presently occupied land mandated to Israel, accommodate Jewish and Zionist refugees from the nations and implement various forms of renewable energy. Please see our Website for more details.

Enlarge the place of your tent,

and let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings;

Do not spare;

Lengthen your cords, and strengthen your stakes.

For you shall expand to the right and to the left,

And your descendants will inherit the nations,

and make the desolate cities inhabited.

ISAIAH 54:2-3

I like the "we!"

A good thing about Israel is, when it comes to camping, that it hardly ever rains in summer - nearly seven months of the year. The first rain usually comes during Succot, but not every year.

Consequently one doesn't even need a tent in summer - actually not even much clothes, Israel is an informal country; men even wear sandals with long pants. It's only January of this year, though, so there are still about 10 weeks of occasional rain and cold left.

There are some army type of tents on the property, but I don't know what their condition is. There's a big Home Center across the road from us where one can buy a tent for about $50 - 4 man, sleeps hardly 2. Tents don't take up much luggage space, so I would recommend bringing one. Cooking equipment is heavy and bulky and can be "found" or bought around here. When it comes to camping, the South African way, "A farmer makes a plan," comes in very handy.

Happy planning in Elohim's grace.
Philip
PS. The way the wind has been blowing, you can throw in a wind turbine -- Ha Ha!
